Java Memory Management
  Overview

Java frees the programmer from memory allocation and recycling concerns. The JVM handles these concerns through garbage collection (GC). Many of the group's projects revolve around finding new ways to perform GC, as well as ways to improve the existing methods. Some projects are involved in leveraging the GC activity for uses beyond memory management.
