The MQTools project is part of an effort to enhance the MQSeries Family. The MQSeries system provides a message queue middleware that extends business applications; it enables them to communicate with each other by sending messages. For example, a bank may transfer financial information from an application that maintains employee details to an application that calculates employee salaries. The MQSeries system has been a market leader in this arena for many years.
The MQSeries Integrator is a part of this initiative that addresses the needs of business and application integration through the management of information flow, encompassing the notions of information modeling, routing and transformation and publish/subscribe application models.
The Haifa MQTools group has developed several tools to enhance the capabilities of the MQSeries Integrator:
- Message Flow debugger - enables Message Flow developers to test and debug their work in the development environment. The debugger has been incorporated in MQSeries Integrator 2.0.2..
- Tools that enhance the testing support given by MQSeries Integrator:
- Message Generator - enables Message Flow developers to generate message suites with certain pre-defined characteristics.
- Coverage Analyzer - enables Message Flow developers to inspect the coverage achieved in several executions of a Message Flow. The tool is based on special coverage criteria for Message Flows.
Both tools are released as part of the MQSeries Family SupportPacs.
During the last year, a Message Flow Locator was developed, that provides capabilities to search for Message Flows, thus improving reuse, collaboration, and knowledge sharing of Message Flows. The tool is built on top of AssetLocator and can be loaded as a WSAD (Websphere Application Development) plugin.
