FDPR-Pro for AIX/Power is a post-link utility for improving the performance of XCOFF files that were compiled for the AIX operating system running on the Power family platform. The tool receives input files in XCOFF format, instruments them, executes them for profiling information, and then optimizes them to achieve:
- Better hit/miss i-cache ratio
- Reduced number of branches
- Reduced number of TLB misses
- Reduced number of page-faults
The FDPR-Pro product for AIX is shipped to customers as part of the AIX 5L operating system in V5.2 and higher.
The FDPR-Pro tool for AIX handles very large executables and shared libraries with a preference towards files generated by IBM XL compilers. The tool is supported for both 32-bit and 64-bit AIX versions.
