As LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP/Python /Perl) based web applications become dominant in the Small Medium Business (SMB) market, this project provides value for IBM's customers and partners, as well as the PHP community, by integrating PHP into WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
The project goal is to make PHP a first class citizen in WAS:
- Enable running PHP applications on WebSphere
- Expose Java objects to PHP
- Expose some of WebSphere's capabilities (e.g., session state, security, database access, etc.) to the PHP script
