The Hybrid Service Platforms group is working to make life a little easier for you.

Our areas of activity include:
  • User interfaces
  • Java-based client applications - JTAPI, JavaMedia
  • Java Server Development
  • Medical Applications
  • Call Center Solutions
  • Directory Servers (LDAP)
  • Telephony Gateways
  • Audio Technology - Echo suppression, Compression, Multi-platform development
  • Broadband Telephony Solutions - based on ATM, Cable
  • Real-time protocols - guaranteed SVD protocols for Voice and Data

The group focuses on integrating voice and data into applications. Our main areas of interest are Internet telephony and telephony-based applications. We have delivered our first product - the IC Phone, an Internet phone system, built on technologies designed by the Audio/Video Technologies group.

We have developed a PSTN gateway which provides telephony services over the IBM IP network, mainly between Haifa and Hawthorne. We have also developed real-time streaming audio technology for low-delay, high-quality voice.

In the development of specific solutions, we are involved in the research and development of tools and components for assisting Customer Care over the Internet - services, marketing and support. We focus on Java-based tools suitable for this purpose.

The group, in its involvement with compression and real-time protocols, is leading the effort for standardization of audio/video Internet applications. Our current projects include:
