Overview
Our research is focused on simplified middleware and tools, targeted at business users and business developers for next generation environments including Web 2.0, software as a service, mobile devices, virtual worlds, and cloud computing platforms. We investigate the software attributes that are particularly important to the customer experience with the goal of increasing the consumability of the software and its value to our customers.
Our current focus is the IBM Application Creator for Business Users, a hosted visual development environment for Web 2.0 applications and widgets for end-users. With IBM Application Creator for Business Users, business users and business developers who have little or no programming skills can create web applications. IBM Application Creator for Business Users addresses the need of SMBs and LOBs to develop low cost and low risk business applications in a short time to value.
IBM Application Creator for Business Users is part of a wider effort in Research called Business Mashup Platfrom, which investigated the hosted development and deployment of Business Mashups - integrating forms and flow.
