Description:
This position involves working on a feature on IBM's next storage development product. The selected candidate will work with others and use C, shell scripts, Perl, and advanced compiling/debugging techniques to provide simple, solid, fast, high-performance design for the product. The selected candidate will respond to customer problems by providing analysis, developing an action plan, providing a fix, and helping out on rare occasions outside the normal 9-5 workday.
Requirements:
Candidates must have three to five years of experience in developing multi-threaded solutions and high-performance code, and be very familiar with compilation, linking, multi-platform, kernel, device drivers and performance-oriented algorithms. Experience in team leadership, architecture models, and real-time support of large customers is required. Candidates must have very strong skills in UNIX and C development, be well-versed in shell scripting and Perl, and be able to work independently. Excellent English speaking and writing skills are required.
Education:
B.Sc. in computer science or engineering.
